Weather NOT Allowin'

At least for the next few days. Looks like I may have to get back on the ......treadmill. It hurts to even say. I still have the Deer Run Run next weekend so I'm going to have to brave the elements sometime next week I guess. Depending on how clear the roads are on Saturday, I might be out for a nice cold, snowy run. Guess I better invest in some better socks!

So, long term I'm thinking the 30 miler at Farmdale next year, turning around and trying the 50 at McNaughton the following Spring. That could all change though. The du's were cool and all, but I missed the trails this year. Who knows? these are just the ramblings of a madman.

Slow Progress

That's what I feel I'm getting done right now. SLOWLY, my diet and training are both getting improved and more consistent to what it was like back in September and early October. My rides over the weekend were great. I put in some good miles with the groups and felt decent. What I really need to be doing now is some LSD running. I've been a bit sick the last two days but I think I'll give it a go tomorrow on a run. Hopefully no rain so I can at least hit up Bradley. If the rain is falling, I'll be on the treadmill I suppose.

Wednesday-60 min run

Thursday-60 min run

Friday-off

Saturday-60 min trail run

Good Week Ahead Planned

The weather is looking great for the next few days. And since I am working nights, I should get some decent work done....and I NEED it. The last month has been lacking to say the very least. I have got some club stuff done though in regards to sponsors and the Midwest Summit. But now I am ready for some "Me Time". With the Deer Run Run just a few weeks away, I need to get my running legs back. I could care less abut speed. I'm all about base miles and going long right now. The new Ipod Tiffster got me for my birthday should be helpfull as well. I've wanted one all year and I've spent the last few days, uploading my cd's.

This past week was an emotional one. My birthday was Monday and for those of you that don't know, Ilost my dad on my birthday 9 years ago. So where did I spend it this year......at the hospital in Indy with my mom having some heart work done. To say the very least, she hasn't responded well to these in the past. I wasn't doing well. Long story short, my mom is doing great and the procedure couldn't have went better. I celebrated my birthday on Tuesday with Tiffster and it was great. Her parents even hooked me up with some $$ for a cargo tray and bike hauler attachment.

so this week goes like this:

Monday-Bradley Park run

Tuesday-off

Wednesday-RIT

Thursday-Jubilee trail run

Friday-Turkey Burn Ride at Farmdale

Saturday-Afterburner Ride @ Farmdale

Back In The Saddle Again........Finally

Yeah, I know, it's been a long time. But I finaaly got back on a bike today. Me and Howie hit the RIT for a couple hours and got our blood pumpin' again. It felt good and the company and conversation got me hungry again. I've been slacking lately, but I think I'm ready to get going. I better be because I am for sure doing the race at Comlara next month. After that it's the Siberian Express in January. From there, I need to plan out my 2007. Could there be some ultras in my future?

Work has been fast and steady. Looking for some big changes in 2007 and some new responsibilities in my job. I expect to have more of an emphasis on gangs and dealers to go along with my sex offenders.

Tomorrow it's a Bradley Park run. I need to get my legs and lungs back a little before I hit it too hard on the trails.
