A big success for me. I only did the 50 miler, but I went out way faster than planned and I felt great at the end. It was a HUGE confidence builder for me. Most importantly it was a lot of fun with many friends.
But back to me.......it told the tale that I planned and implemented it right and did what I set out to do. Like I said, it set the tone for my near fitness future. My only regret was that I forgot my camera.
Next on the fitness calendar is my first 5K in awhile on October 15th. Not sure which one I'm doing, but that's the weekend.

No Baloney Is Here!
Tomorrow mornng at 9 a.m. me and some of the PAMBA Boyz will head out on our 50 miler. Depending on how I feel, I may do the 75. I feel ike I've done everything right. I've ate right all week. I've hydrated well. I've slept good. I got a nice 25 mile ride in yesterday morning so my legs should be fresh and ready. I picked up some chamois buttr and some Elete today and packed a couple extra CO2 cartridges in my bag. My clothes are laid out. I even have a Fox jacket ready if needed. I can't think of anything else.
As far as the festival goes I'm in good shape. The Tshirts are being printed. I got the call today that the medals and trophies are done so I need to pick them up. I also need to get gift certificates from Ades and Russell's. Tonight I made up press releases for Shaums March. I'll send them to all of the TV stations and newspapers here in town. I'll also send some to a couple radio stations. CIC is gettingthe dirt.....finally. I hope he has time to do what he wants to do.
Next week will be BUSY!!

Not So Fast
on My ride Monday morning. It rained all night then had 23 mph winds all dayfollowed by more thunderstorms. Needless to say, I didn't get a ride in. I got up nice an early Tuesday morning though and ran for a couple miles or so. I'll try and bump it up to 2.5 miles next week. I WILL ride tomorrow morning though. I'm not looking for more than 25 or 30 miles. Just something to keep my legs moving for No Baloney on Saturday. If all goes well, I would love to get 75 miles in that day. I've ate good all week. I've kept hydrated and I feel like I'm sleeping good. Saturday should be good.........I'm counting on it.

Another Successfull Race
That's what the Mud, Sweat and Gears race in Bloomington was today. 97 racers on a great day to race. The course was fast and the pace was up to the challenge. The winning novice time was around 36 minutes! CORBA did a great job getting the course ready. Jason and I had a great day timing and it was a pleasure to be part of.
Now it's time to focus on the festival in two weeks and get myself ready for the No Baloney next weekend. I Jason picked up my Heed and I am stocked on Hammer Gel. Tomorrow I'll get in another nice road ride, hopefully 40 miles or so.

Been slippin'......
on my postin'. I'm riding though. Wednesday was a good road ride with Howie for 35 miles or so. I got up yesterday and hit Comlara with Jon for 16 miles. Both rides felt pretty good. My road ride was surprisingly good considering I was on no sleep and had been eating terrible. I was anticipating a rough day, but despite the northernly wind, it went very well. Takin' it easy today. My legs are FLAT and have no spring today.
Tomorrow morning I'm off to Comlara for the M, S & G race with the CORBA gang. I'll head over about 8, set up camp then help mark course. Hopefully I can sneak a ride in after that and relax the rest of the day. Sunday we'll bang out another race and start getting ready for the festival. I've been running ragged ths week getting stuff for the festival ready. It will all be worthit in the end though. Things are shaping up to be very successfull.
Next weekend is No Baloney. My registration has been sent, so I'm locked in. I'm really looking forward to it. I just have to make sure I stay hydrated and eat well this week. Hopefully I can sneak a couple rides in too!

Back To the Trails
Had a couple nice rides over the weekend at Farmdale. Friday morning with Terry, Todd, Doug and Kurt for about 15 miles. Today I went back and rode a lap by myself then a smaller lap with a local kid named Cody. He is killa on the FR stuff and can rip it on the trails too. It was cool. The park was busy with bikers, equestrians, and some trail runners. It's cool to see that many people out using the trails.
I feel like I'm starting to feel a little better on the bike. I just face the fact that I'm not fast. I never will be all that fast. But I feel like I can ride for much longer durations and hang better. That's really all I can ask for I guess. I just need to get my confidence back on the northshore and drops. I'm getting closer to where I was before my wreck in July. Just being stronger on the trails is getting my confidence back for the other stuff.
No definite plans for tomorrow. Either a ride at Farmdale or a light run here in the morning.
